After a career in clinical ophthalmology, I began studying oil painting in 2008 and quickly fell in love with making art. In Memphis TN, my previous home, I was fortunate to find inspiring teachers, generous colleagues, and a variety of venues to exhibit.

Since moving to Asheville three years ago, I have been painting full-time. I also began working in pastels, my new favorite medium. My landscapes are based on observation and memory, usually bathed in idealized light. 

I paint to remind myself of the poetry around me. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to share that joy.
